Dan Searles

CFP®, RFC®, CEP®, LUTCF, Financial Advisor 

Dan Searles has been practicing financial advising since 1981. He earned his CFP designation in 1992. A published author, Dan’s financial writings include his syndicated column, Your Money Matters and his book, I Can Beat the Market and Other Lies from Financial Professionals (available on Amazon). Born in Louisiana, Dan spent his elementary school years in Lawrenceville, Georgia before relocating to the Washington, DC area. Dan and his wife, Eydie, split their time between a home in the Washington, DC suburbs and their home in The Village on SSI. In his spare time, Dan is a songwriter and recently wrote the screenplay and soundtrack for the upcoming western film, Bill Tilghman and the Outlaws. He also enjoys playing pickleball on SSI, watching his son play baseball at USC-Beaufort, and time spent with his grandchildren.

Ryan Dunn

ChFEBC, Financial Advisor

Ryan specializes in helping federal employees navigate the federal benefit system. As a leading expert in his field, Ryan has trained federal financial professionals on the Federal Employee benefit system. In his spare time, Ryan codes video games, serves as a church youth leader, is committee chair of the local Cub Scout Troop, and is the dad of three rambunctious kiddos.

Josh Brunner

CFP®, Assistant to Dan Searles

Josh earned his Bachelors of Finance degree from the University of Maryland University College, and in October 2012 earned his Certified Financial Planner® professional designation. Starting in the banking industry in 1994, he held positions as Bank Manager, Business Development Coordinator and Financial Advisor. Josh joined us in September 2004. He and his wife, Rachel, have one child, Jack.

John "JR" Robertson

Financial Assistant

JR has a Bachelor’s degree in Business from James Madison University and joined us January 2007. Life before Medallion included nine years in client services with a large national mutual fund company as a Financial Advisor. JR and his wife, Jennifer, have two girls, Julia and Caroline, and he is a member of the St. Andrew’s Society of Washington DC, a charitable and social organization of men of Scottish birth or ancestry.

Barry Cantor

J.D., LLM, CPA, General Assistant

Before coming to join our team, Barry worked in the tax and accounting fields for many years. Barry has worked hard through the years earning his J.D and LLM, as well as the CPA. He is married and has two children whose numerous after-school activities keep him very busy after work. He spends the rest of his free time exploring new cuisine and bringing joy to the world through song and comedy.

Samuel De la Cruz

Financial Advisor

Samuel DeLaCruz comes to us from New York City where he worked for a brokerage firm.  He is securities licensed and is eager to help serve Coast’s clients.  Sam played college baseball for Florence Darlington Tech and the University of South Carolina at Beaufort.  In his free time, he likes to read and play pickleball.
